Description in creative writing is one of the most important facets of any piece. It can and should appeal to all your senses! Each time you introduce something important, you have an opportunity to connect to the reader and draw her/him further into whatever universe you are creating. Your sense of taste will help tell you when enough is enough. Or this test: If the description makes you fidgit or takes you out of the story line, it’s too long.
