The Back Story on how this author got a book agent

This is not my first rodeo. In 2021, on my birthday in fact (November 21st), I decided to start querying for an agent with my first book, THE DAFFODIL WITCH. That journey was quite different from this one. I queried for exactly one year, receiving an offer while on a trip to Disney with my best friend, ON my birthday. I was so thrilled at the time–not only was I six weeks pregnant, I had an agent, and I was celebrating my birthday in my favorite place of all time! My querying stats for THE DAFFODIL WITCH were as follows:
Total Queries: 42 Rejections: 30 CNRs (closed, no response): 10 Partial Requests: 3 Full Requests: 13 Offers: 2 Time Querying: One year (exactly)

There are many women who take on the role of motherhood in different ways, whether it’s through adoption, fostering, or simply being a mentor or role model to a younger person. These women deserve to be celebrated and appreciated just as much as biological mothers.
In conclusion, Mother’s Day is a time to celebrate the special women in our lives who have loved and supported us through thick and thin. Whether it’s our own mothers, grandmothers, aunts, or other mother figures, this day is all about showing love and appreciation for those who have given us so much.
